When the covid hunker down began in the spring of 2020, I started to run. I ran farther and farther and deeper and deeper into the woods of Berkshire county. I snapped photos. I contemplated the forests, the seasons, the roots, the quiet, the cold, the tree trunks, the streams, and leaves.
And then I came home and started to draw. Little tiny drawings - 2” X 3”. Perhaps they reflect the smallness of our world as travel screeched to a halt, and visits with family and friends were restricted.
I can’t wait to share them with you. There are more 100.
The David and Joyce Milne Library are hosting an exhibit of these drawings.
WHAT: Into the Woods, ink drawings by Stephanie Boyd
WHEN: JANUARY - all month
OPENING RECEPTION: Wednesday, January 5, 6-8 pm
WHERE: David & Joyce Milne Library, 1095 Main St., Williamstown
They are for sale too. $30 for one, $25 each for more than one.
Each drawing is glued with bookbinder’s glue to a piece of cherry. You can stick them on the wall with a little bit of poster putty or other removable adhesive. They look great in groups of 2 or 3 or …9!
If you are feeling hesitant about visiting the exhibit with a crowd, please contact me at sboydworks@gmail.com to coordinate a time.
And I’d like to thank my daughter for helping with the display, and Laura for sharing wood-cutting skills and equipment.
And the crows.
Happy New Year!
